Catch Cans

An oil catch can is used to filter and catch the excess oil before recirculation. Its other goal is to prevent oil mist or vapour from reaching the crankcase, which is known as blow-by. Blow-by is defined as the loss of compression as it leaks past the piston rings into the crankcase. A catch can will ensure a cleaner intake tract free of oil.
